Joanna Danner William Penn School 49 Indianapolis, IN
For the last 33 years, Joanna Danner has dedicated her service to teaching students grade one through six; and all but one of those has been in Indianapolis Public Schools. She graduated from IUPUI with a BS degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Danner appreciated the individual attention that children receive from someone other than the adults they see at school. It is so apparent that tutors really care about their students and make powerful and impactful connections. In fact Joanna is so moved by the TutorMate experience she tears up each year when thanking the tutor groups.
Favorite book - I really love Frindle and Mick Hart was Here (for older grades). For younger students I adore the Mercy Watson books.
